The McCain Update - September 15

Amid a fierce national debate on the war, John McCain started off an action packed week in Washington at the hearings with General David Petraeus, the U.S. commander in Iraq, and Ambassador Ryan Crocker. John McCain drew a sharp contrast with Democratic rivals, highlighting his four years of advocacy for and his staunch support for the troop "surge" and denunciation of liberal smear politics from MoveOn.org (watch video).

On Wednesday, John McCain kicked off his three state "No Surrender" bus tour, fighting for victory in Iraq with stops throughout Iowa and New Hampshire. This weekend, the tour will continue through South Carolina, culminating with a rally at The Citadel on Saturday. Read the latest from the "No Surrender" tour on our website throughout the weekend.

This Sunday, John McCain will be on NBC's "Meet The Press" in a joint appearance with John Kerry to discuss the future course of the fight against radical Islamic extremism. Please be sure to tune in and watch. For more information, log on to www.JohnMcCain.com, and please be sure to forward this newsletter on to family, friends and fellow John McCain supporters.

Our democracy is not for sale.” Read More

Iraq Resolution

"Where is the intellectual honesty if you think that you're sending young Americans into harm's way in a futile effort?" McCain asked. "I know if I felt that way, I would say, 'My resolution is a binding resolution that cuts off funding.' That's the intellectually honest approach."

Sen. John McCain
